OPINIONS OF THE STORY SO FAR

In The Kite Runner, there are many things that has happened so far. In the first two chapters, it talks about how Amir and Hassan are very close even though they are not biological brothers. While we were reading the first two chapters, we thought that even though their social class is not the same, they are still best friends that will be there for each other.

We also figured out that Hassan is like Amir's servant. This got us all thinking on how Hassan is being treated. We felt sorry for Hassan, and wanted Hassan to have a better life. We also related this to different races of people around the world. In the U.S., most of the black people are still not being treated equally as the white. This relates to Hassan and Amir, because Amir is more higher class and Amir gets to be treated better than Hassan.

There are about four main characters in the story: Hassan, Amir, Baba, and Ali. Baba is Amir's father, and Ali is Hassan's father. Baba and Amir are Pashtuns, which are the higher class people, while Ali and Hassan are Hazara, which are the lower class people. We feel that even though Baba and Amir are higher class, they do not need to treat Hassan and Ali like servants. We feel that it is wrong that they are Baba's servants because Ali and Hassan basically grew up in their family, so they should not be servants to them.

PREDICTIONS

So far in the story, we stopped at chapter five. In chapter five, we learn that there is a war going on, and the neighborhood kids: Assef, Wali, and Kamal talk about Hitler. After this happend, we predict that bad things are going to happen, because of the war. We predict that many people are going to get killed, and this is the reason that Amir moved out of Afghanistan in the winter of 1975. We also predict that the Hazaras are going to get criticized and be treated more unfairly. We believe this because the war will cause this on the Hazaras. We hope that nothing bad will happen to them, but we do not know. We have to wait for the other chapters to follow.
