Favorite Quote in "The Kite Runner"

Our favorite quote in the story The Kite Runner is what Baba said to Amir in Chapter 3. Baba told this quote to Amir after Amir asked him about sin after being taught about it in school. It teaches Amir about life.

“Now, no matter what the mullah teaches, there is only one sin, only one. And that is theft. Every other sin is a variation of theft. Do you understand that?” (Chapter 3, Page 17).

This is our favorite quote because it made us think harder about the sins. If this quote was not in the story, then we believe that no one would think about sin. We agree with Baba’s statement. Even though it might not be portrayed as a true statement, every sin is a variation of theft. For example, when you cheat on a test, you are basically stealing someone else's answers, which is a form of theft. Even if you lie, you are covering up the truth, which could be covering up a form of theft.

Overall, this is why we this quote is our favorite, because it teaches everyone about life and what not to do.
