My favorite chapter activity to work on was the soundtrack. This was my favorite chapter activity because I enjoyed finding songs that can connect to the story, ¨The Kite Runner¨. The songs were able to help show a specific theme in the story just by its lyrics or by the way it sounds. I believe that music helps people connect the song to whatever they want. For example, one song that we connected the story to was, "The Dog Days Are Over" by Florence and the Machine.

My partner for this activity was Panisa. We chose this song to represent how Afghanistan changed when the Taliban came. In the beginning of the song, it starts off upbeat like everything is happy. As the song continues, the beat changes as the drums/bass come in. This song can connect to Afghanistan by how the people were happy and well until the Taliban came. When the Taliban came, things started to go rough and everything was not well. A lyric in the song says, "The dog days are over". The dog days represents the days before the Taliban came and it is now over because the happiness is gone.

Here is the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iWOyfLBYtuU
