The Lucky One: Movie Based Film
The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks is a book that I read which is also a movie. The lucky one is about Logan Thibault, a US Marine who returns home after almost getting killed three times during his time in Iraq. He believes that he survived because of a picture of a woman he doesn't even know. He crosses the country with his dog Zeus to try and find her, and he eventually does. He figures out that her name is Beth, goes to meet her, and takes a job at her family-run kennel. Although Beth has a complicated life, romance sparks giving Logan hope that him and Beth could become something more.
In the movie, Logan Thibault is played by Zac Efron and Beth is played by Taylor Schilling. Zac appeared in other famous movies, such as High School Musical, 17 Again, and Neighbors while Taylor has appeared in the hit TV series, Orange is the New Black.
This book/ film relates to me because a few years ago, I believed that I had a good luck charm when I played tennis matches too. Whenever I had an important match, either a semi finals or finals match, I would wear a green shirt to play, because I would always win whenever I wore a green shirt. I believed that the green shirt made me win and gave me good luck. Just like Logan Thibault in the story, his lucky charm was the photo of Beth, and he believed that that's what kept him alive during his wartime in Iraq.
I really enjoyed this book and film because it was different than the other romance novels. Usually in roman novels, the couples would have "love at first sight" and would eventually fall in love. This book on the other hand, was unique. It made the guy find his true love by walking across the whole US and they eventually falling in love together.
I also really enjoyed this book and watching the film because one of my favorite actors, Zac Efron was in the movie. He portrayed being Logan Thibault well and I thought that he fit his character perfectly. Even though I don't really know Taylor Schilling, I also felt that she made the perfect character for Beth because her personality and the way she talked was similar to her actual character in the book.
Overall, I really enjoyed reading The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks and I also enjoyed watching the movie. This is one of my favorite movies and books I've ever read, and I recommend everyone to read it and watch the film.
