¨New Year, New Me¨
For 2017, I have many goals that I would like to achieve during the new year. I do not believe in the saying ¨New year, new me¨ because I do not think that a person can change completely in one day let alone overnight. However, I do believe that a person can set goals for themselves to achieve throughout the year. Most of the people that set these goals, like myself, do not even follow these goals and give up. However, I enjoy
setting goals for myself.
One academic goal that I have for myself is to not procrastinate for school. I have a problem with time managing and I tend to procrastinate while doing my work that it can take me at least two hours for doing work that should only take 30 minutes to one hour. One thing that I should do to achieve this goal is to turn off my phone or put it in airplane mode so I would not go on it while I am doing my work. Another thing that I can do is write all of my tasks down and also write down what time I should do the work from.
Another academic goal that I have for myself is to study smarter and not harder. Some people, like myself, would study for their tests the night before and all the information that they studied for would leave their brain the next day. I want to study smarter and make sure that the information would stick inside my head. One thing that I can do to achieve this goal is to write down in advance when my tests are and study the information in advance. For example, if I have a Marine Biology test in one week, I would read the information the week before and go over the information a little bit everyday. I believe that this would help me perform better on my tests and help me remember the information that I have learned.
Even though I know that these goals cannot be achieved overnight or in a week, I would like to try my best to achieve them so I can perform better on my schoolwork. I would really not like to stress out over school and try to enjoy it while I can.
