The Promise by Jessica Sorensen is the fourth book of her amazing series called the Fallen Star. The faith of everyone lies in the hands of a girl whose name is Gemma Lucas. The Mark of Malefiscus, which the mark of evil, is slowly showing up everywhere, which is definitely not a good thing. Wild vampires, fey, and witches are roaming around creating chaos and killing the innocent. Lost souls are jumping into bodies and creating even more madness. Gemma must find Alex, her partner, her childhood best friend. The only person who could truly help, for if she doesn’t, Malefiscus will take over, and everyone will end up in ashes. With her special and rare gift only she is able to find a way to save everyone.

The reason why I like this book so much is because it’s different from other books I’ve read, considering that there are mythical creatures involved with the entire plot. I also love it because of the action and suspense this book

has. This author has left me on cliffhanger, after cliffhanger, and I never wanted to stop reading. This series is a 10 out of 10 for me, and I can’t wait to get the last two books so I can finish the story of Gemma saving the world from evil.
