Our Own Poem, "The Broken Heart"

Trusts can be broken down,

Like leaves falling to the ground

My soul turned gray,

Like the storm that will not go away

The harsh wind hitting my face,

Blowing all the pieces out of place

You acted like nothing will break,

But all you said was fake

I hoped that one day I will be fine,

Like the soft glow of the moonshine

But I still sat at night and wondered,

While the storms thundered

My heart felt like it was shattered,

With all of its pieces scattered

But one day it will be placed together,

And I will learn to love myself forever.
